Originally from New Delhi, India, Siddharth got into cooking when he was 19 years old, and completed a 3-year culinary diploma in New Delhi at a 5-star luxury hotel. His passion for cooking has taken him to different countries, experimenting with different cuisines from all over the world. After moving to Dublin, Ireland he worked first as a chef and later as a restaurateur for a popular Japanese restaurant called Koishi, which won best restaurant in 2008.
After moving to Canada he opened Siddartha’s Indian Kitchen on Commercial Drive in late 2011, which has evoked great response from Vancouverites since it first opened its doors. The restaurant has won several awards and had been noted by food enthusiasts, including media and many food bloggers. Called Chef Sid, he has been credited with putting Indian cuisine on the food map of western Canada.
